on Oct 27th, 20112012 Indianapolis Home Show Centerpiece Home Unveiled!
Bring on January! Ordinarily I’m no fan of January (ditto for December, February or March), but an unveiling this week of plans for the 2012 Indianapolis Home Show Centerpiece Home has caused me to reconsider. The Craftsman
style Centerpiece Home built by Fischer Homes is going to be stunning, and may actually be a reason to look forward to January!
For the Fischer Homes team and interior designer Joy Perkins, constructing the Centerpiece Home is all about creating a “buzz.” And from what I saw that should be no problem. The eye-catching Craftsman exterior in a soft shade of “avocado” (nothing like the kitchen appliances of the ’60s) with antique white trim and a beautiful stone elevation positively beckons you inside, where the Once Upon a Time inspired custom details and design promise to generate lots of ooohs and aaahhs, a smidgen of envy, and plenty of conversation.
The 2012 Centerpiece Home will be built entirely inside Exposition Hall at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. The Stanton floor plan features a two-story gathering room and gourmet eat-in kitchen with a diamond bay window, plus a library, study, and dining room on the main level. Upstairs are four bedrooms. Handscraped wood floors, floor to ceiling paneling in the study, an exposed brick wall in the dining room, and a two-story great room with exposed beams are just a few of the features that will make the Centerpiece Home well worth the wait in line.
Also totally worth the wait, I predict, will be the interior design elements of the Centerpiece Home. In keeping with the Once Upon a Time theme, attendees will find that much of the furnishings gracing the home have been cleverly repurposed from objects that actually had a purpose in a previous life. An antique quilt rack serves as the base for the kitchen table, railroad ties form the legs of dining room chairs, and a wooden basket cart with reclaimed trolley wheels provides storage in the laundry room.
The 2012 Indianapolis Home Show opens Friday, January 20 through Sunday, January 29. Follow the progress of the 2012 Indianapolis Home Show Centerpiece Home here! And bring on January!
